 #1 Fiver.com
This easy to use website is a lifesaver, especially if used correctly. Fiverr is an online platform that outsources “gigs” to creatives around the world. Whether you’re in need of a flyer, business plan, marketing strategy or facebook header- you can find it easily for only $5! One word to the wise, visit the site with a goal in mind because it’s very easy to get sidetracked and end up purchasing unneeded items. Also, be very selective and take your time researching users before purchasing a gig. Although it’s only $5 wasted if it doesn’t work out, your time is much more valuable.

#2 Phone a friend
Take some time to evaluate your network. Who’s in your circle? Working smarter, not harder means utilizing all of the resources available to you. Do you have a friend who studied marketing in school that could help you create a solid marketing plan? What about your cousin who plans the best celebrations? Surely she could help you plan the launch event for your business. What about your friend who is a graphic designer? Maybe she’d be willing to teach you how to use Photoshop so you can create your own graphics? Let your network work for you!

 #3 Barter
Barter is the new way of doing business! The goal here is to hold on to your coins! Make a list of the skills and talents you have that would be of value to someone else. Are you an awesome writer that could create a bio for someone? Maybe you are extremely thorough in your research and can assist someone with a market research project. By beginning with the end in mind,  you can create a solid barter plan. Always approach potential partners by highlighting how you can help them but be sure to have a clear intent in mind for what you need as well. When you’re able to clearly articulate what you can offer and what you want to receive in return, the partnership is easier to form. Keep in mind, the barter method is only effective if both parties benefit mutually.

Never let the dollars dictate your dreams. In order to be successful, you have to remember that you can ALWAYS afford to invest in yourself! Keep your peace of mind and a few dollars in your pocket by simply finding creative ways to get the job done. You are a powerful  problem solver, the world is yours for the taking……
