If you want to be successful, your environment must be conducive to your success.
Last night on IG Live, I shared 5 ways to take what’s yours in 2017 and one of my strategies was to adjust your environment. (I’m writing a blog with all of the tips, stay tuned!)
This strategy is crucial because it’s nearly impossible to sustain success if you surround yourself with people who are not going where you’re going. Now, don’t get me wrong…everyone doesn’t have to be a part of your plan BUT they should still be going in the same direction: UP. Everyone who gets a piece of your time or some of your attention should be adding value to you in someway.
So, if you’re still spending time with people because you’re just comfortable with them, that comfort will eventually kill your dreams. So today’s #TakeCareTuesday tip is to survey your circle and make any adjustments necessary to position yourself for success. Start spending time with people who are where you want to be, not where you’ve been. It will change your life. In business, it’s been mentorship & partnership that have been crucial to my success– the doors to the next level are always opened by someone who’s already there. [bctt tweet=” The doors to the next level are always opened by someone who’s already there.” username=”koereyelle”]
When you start building real relationships and connecting with key people you can get to your goals 10x as fast. I truly believe that you have to upgrade your circle if you want to elevate your life.
Over the last 4 years, my network has grown tremendously and relationships have landed me everything from television interviews to speaking engagements, jobs, clients, #YouNameIt. It’s all about who you know and who knows you.
I want this to be a goal for you in 2017. See just how strong of a network you can create. Think about who you can rub elbows with and which circles you need to be in to secure your spot at the top.
Next year, I’m opening up my network to you. Literally scrolling through my rolodex (remember those?) and plugging you in to all of my people through my Inner Circle mentoring program. It’s specifically created to share the success secrets people really want to hear and need to know for personal and professional development. I’m super excited to reveal more details about it, you can learn more here.
In the mean time and in between time though, start thinking about your environment. Make a list of the people, places and things that are adding value to you then decide who deserves a spot on your 2017 winning team.
2017 has your name on it!
