Kevin Hart: Poor Lil Tink Tink

A few days ago, news broke that everyone’s favorite little man (Kevin Hart) stepped out on his “rib.”

***insert eye roll here***

As much as I hate it for Lil Kevy, his bad choices don’t change my check.

Even though I’d love to spend the day digging through the memes and reading the blogs (don’t judge me) I’d much rather invest my time in using my social media to make money.

At the end of the day, the scandal isn’t really going to stop his success… so why should you waste your time worrying about it?!

By minding my business on social media, I’ve been able to:
√ get booked to speak Internationally
v sell books to countries I’ve never been to
connect with celebs, politicians, and influencers
√ sell out a 7-city tour
√ generate over six figures online

and if you start minding yours and focusing on what’s for you, you can do it too.

This week I’m releasing a new course: making a name for yourself on social media and I’m covering:
•setting up your profile to secure the bag
•why content is king and how to create it
•how to engage your audience and turn them into your tribe
•using partnerships to promote your brand + get paid
•managing the madness (how to handle it all)

Fck Love …

After I ended my engagement, my mood was: fck love

Maybe it’s not for me…

Maybe I’m the one woman that God forgot about…

I felt so strongly about it and was in such a funk behind it that I actually took my fool self down to the tattoo shop and got a “fck love breakup tattoo” that reads: love has a limit (thanks Keri Hilson lol)

I had really started to believe that love was to blame for all that I had lost.

that mood lasted for a few months…

just long enough for me to realize that I couldn’t blame anyone else for my burdens and it was up to me to get rid of my baggage…

Have you ever felt like that?

Ever felt like giving up on love?

Ever felt like there aren’t any good men (or any good enough for you) left in the world?

If we never see examples of healthy, happy love it’s easy to believe that it doesn’t exist or that love can’t last…

So this year I wanted to do something that we’ve never done before, specifically for my ladies who are losing faith in love…

Every year at the Big Hat Brunch, we hear from happy wives who want to help us understand what to do before we say I do. But this year, I’m introducing you to two couples whose stories are relatable and whose advice is relevant…

They’re going to share what it takes to make love last and help you understand how important your decisions are when it comes to your dating life…

Whether you’re single, married or in a complicated situationship — this conversation is definitely going to help you check yourself so you can change your life… plus, it’s going to inspire you to keep the faith in love…

These days I’m more excited than ever about my happily ever after because I see real examples of real love every single day.. I surround myself with love so that I’m better able to recognize it when it shows up in my life..

and I realize that the more I focus on achieving goals and becoming the woman God created me to be, the closer I get to the man He created for me.

Come hear this conversation and find out how to become a better woman before becoming a wife.

8 Essentials of an Engaging Email

It makes absolutely no sense to have 5,000 subscribers on your list if you don’t know how to create an engaging and effective email.

Here are my 8 essentials of an engaging email:

#1 Create a story around your topic

Facts tell, stories sell. By creating a story around your topic, you will have a relatable way to reach your audience.

#2 Use the 90/10 rule

90% of all communication should be educational, while 10% can be promotional. It’s important that you provide great free content before expecting your audience to become customers.

#3 Keep it friendly

As you write your email, pretend that you’re talking to a girlfriend. Smile as you write and your energy will transfer to your subscribers. They will literally believe you’re talking directly to them.

#4 Don’t give away all of the goods

You always want to leave your readers wanting more. Instead of giving away all of the content in the actual email, you want your subscribers to click through to your site or shop.

#5 Secure the bag with the subject line

33% of readers decide whether they’ll open your email based on the subject line alone. Don’t be afraid to be funny, use slang and allow your brand voice to shine through.

#6 Keep it short & sweet

People hate reading. Period. Your job is to get to the point without losing the interest of your reader.

#7 Time is of the essence

Hands down, the best day to send emails (based on all studies) is Tuesday. You can gauge the best time of day based on your Instagram statistics — if you have your facebook business account you can check your statistics on the IG app to decide the best time of day to send your emails.

#8 Proofreading is profitable

You always want to create a professional appearance for your brand and proofreading is one guaranteed way to maintain your image.

In my free email marketing basics training I went waaaay deep on these 8 essentials and also shared 10 types of email to send your subscribers besides your boring newsletter.

busy at the beach

Koe Takes Cabo: Busy at the Beach 2017 Recap

I brought the melanin to Mexico for my 3rd Annual #BusyAtTheBeach Getaway and we turned Cabo out! For the first time, I brought along two boss babes to co-host with me, Emmelie De La Cruz and Nichole Sanford.

From day 1’s pool party to game night and the boat party, we literally did it all and Cabo don’t owe us a thing!

Busy at the Beach is all about empowering women to play as hard as they WERK and take time to celebrate themselves. Women traveled from all across the county to network with like-minded ladies, get some strategy for their success and enjoy fun in the sun.

My girl Priiincesss documented the entire trip, check out her daily reviews:

•Day 1: Pool Party

•Day 2: Private Dinner

•Day 2: Game Night

•Day 3: Boat Party

If you missed this year’s getaway, be sure to secure your spot ASAP for next year’s vacay! >> Get details here.

Seven Reasons to Choose Shopify for Your Store

Over the last 5 years, I’ve hosted shops on GoDaddy Shopping Cart builder, Big Cartel, WooCommerce and Shopify. Although there are pros and cons to each platform, nothing compares to Shopify.

Here are my top 7 reasons why:

#1 You can sell almost anything with Shopify

Whether you’re selling physical products, digital goods or dropshipping items you can do it all easily with Shopify. BigCartel and GoDaddy didn’t offer any add-ons to deliver digital products.

#2 There’s tons of seamless integrations

Whether you want to integrate your email campaigns via Mailchimp or your calendar through Google, Shopify has an app that allows you to share the data easily.

#3 You don’t have to be techy to use Shopify

When it comes to setting up and designing your site, you don’t need to be a techy to get it done. It’s simple templates make it easy to design a professional site in a short time. WooCommerce was a nightmare to learn.

#4 The numbers don’t lie

When it comes to making money online, you want to know your stats at all time. Unlike other platforms, shopify provides in-depth reports for your store. From who’s spending the most money to who’s predicted to purchase next… if you want to know it, Shopify has a report for it.

#5 It’s affordable

You don’t have to break the bank with Shopify. You can start selling for free with their 14-day trial and then host your shop for as little as $29/mo

#6 Shipping is seamless

Shipping was a nightmare with BigCartel, I literally had to log into paypal to ship each individual order and manually mark it as shipped. Shopify saves me time by integrating shipping via USPS, plus it offers discounts on postage when you ship your order directly through your shop back end.

#7 There’s an app for that

Think of Shopify like an iPhone. It comes with a ton of features standard but you can download apps that add all sorts of functions to your device. Shopify has a similar “app store” with tons of apps that turn your basic store into a booming enterprise.

In this free training I shared how I was able to make $56K with Shopify. Plus, I’m dispelling myths about making money online and advice on how to avoid common ecommerce mistakes.

$2000 in 3 hours – how I REALLY did it

This happened the other night and it blew my mind!!!!

Between 9:00 – 11:59pm I made $2000 using Shopify

Not only did the amount blow my mind, but the fact that it was my exact goal for the week and I accomplished it in one night was truly a testament to what can happen when you’re intentional.

In the last 14 years, I have
-started a nail tech business (YES I’m a licensed nail tech lol)
-sold Pure Romance sex toys
-became a party planner
-started a certified travel agent
-tried to start a tax business
-started a bracelet boutique
-sold waist trainers, jewelry, and tea SMH

you name it.. if it’s legal, I sold it.

But none of it was really profitable because I was all over the place…

I had a million different things going on and none of them were things I was really passionate about..

I was too busy trying to force what wasn’t for me to focus on what was.

If you never pick up another lesson from me, please learn this: if you keep your attention on your intention it will always be a worthwhile investment.

It’s worth your time to pause for long enough to get clear about your purpose so that you can really get paid.

Or else you’re going to end up wasting your money doing all the wrong things for all the wrong reasons.

It took me 14 years to figure out that my purpose was to help other women discover AND GET PAID from their purpose.. but now that I’ve focused my energy on that it’s finally paying off in a major way.

If you missed my free live webinar where I shared how I made $56K with Shopify, you can access the replay here.

How would you like to make some extra side money with Shopify!?
