One year ago today I kicked off my WERK101 book tour in NYC?! We packed out a swanky penthouse suite, pampered some werkaholics and honored some werking women! New York showed up and showed out!! Soon after, I hit six other cities sharing my message to women that they can absolutely have whatever they’re willing to WERK for!

You know what’s crazy though? Two years before the book tour, I put “paid tour” on my vision board not knowing what kind of tour I wanted…I just knew I wanted to travel the country doing what I love AND get paid for it. Back then I didn’t have a book or any other reason to tour.

But, when the time was right– it happened. Everything lined up perfectly and I really pulled off seven successful events…that’s how God works. When the timing is right and you’re really ready, you receive what you’ve been praying for.

So when I look back on it and retrace my steps, there’s 4 things I did to manifest the tour:

#1 Got really clear
Just saying I wanted a “paid tour” didn’t mean much. It wasn’t until I gained some clarity (& stopped procrastinating) and finished my book that I even had a purpose for a tour. Sometimes we sabotage our own success by doing things out of order…You can’t put the cart before the horse. So until I had a purpose to tour, it wasn’t possible.

#2 Be strategic
If I would’ve pulled seven cities out of a hat to visit, my events probably wouldn’t have been successful. Until I was specific with where I wanted to go and who I wanted to reach, I had a hard time creating a strategy that made sense. In life, you don’t just get what you want– you get what you work for.

#3 Speak it into existence
I cannot tell you how powerful your words are, you must use them wisely. In order to really become successful, you gotta get good at siking yourself out. Say it until you believe it and don’t let anyone convince you that you’re crazy. I claimed being a best-selling author before I became one, I claimed being featured in magazines, I claimed the coins and I dare someone to tell me they’re not coming.

#4 Be willing to invest in yourself
You have to pay to play.. PERIOD. If you’re not willing to invest in yourself, you can’t expect anyone else to. Sometimes the investment isn’t even money though. Sometimes it’s the time, energy, effort and resources that you must dedicate to your dream. Sometimes the investment is the long hours. Sometimes it’s doing the tasks you hate doing but you know must get done. If you’re going to make it happen, make sure you’re doing your part.

How much have you been investing in your goals? If not enough, get organized so you can prioritize your life. This is one of my FAVORITE tools to manage my time and task list.
